Defender is a 1981 horizontally scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Williams Electronics for arcades. It was released in Japan by Taito. It is set on an unnamed planet where the player must defeat waves of invading aliens while protecting astronauts. Development was led by Eugene Jarvis, a pinball programmer at Williams; Defender was Jarvis's first video game project and drew inspiration from Space Invaders and Asteroids. Defender was demonstrated in late 1980 and was released in March 1981. Synopsis from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA.

Where to buy

Tier prices are the cheapest listing we found in each condition at our last refresh, read from the seller's own description. The buttons open a live eBay search, so stock and prices will have moved — confirm condition before buying. As an Amazon & eBay affiliate we may earn from qualifying purchases. Check region (PAL/NTSC), condition and completeness before buying.
