1984 · Arcade · Dave Theurer

I, Robot is an action video game designed by Dave Theurer of Atari, Inc.. It was released by Atari as an arcade video game in 1984. The player assumes the role of "Unhappy Interface Robot #1984", a servant bot that rebels against Big Brother. The goal is to turn red squares to blue to destroy Big Brother's shield and eye. In addition to the main game, there is a non-game drawing mode, Doodle City, which can be used for three minutes. Synopsis from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA.

Where to buy

I, Robot was a coin-op original — it never had a shelf release, so there is no boxed copy to buy. What you can buy is the hardware itself, or a later home conversion.

Nothing genuine listed right now — no arcade board or cabinet, and no home conversion we could confirm is this game. We would rather show you nothing than the wrong machine.

As an Amazon & eBay affiliate we may earn from qualifying purchases. Check region (PAL/NTSC), condition and completeness before buying.

Editions

The formats this game was pressed for. Years are the release for that platform where Wikidata records one — a blank year means the platform is documented but the date isn't.
